Your Counselors:
Ms. Suzanne Longobardi– School Counselor for K-2nd Grade. Suzanne.Longobardi@stjohns.k12.fl.us (904) 547-3739
My name is Suzanne Longobardi and I am thrilled to introduce myself as part of the school counseling team here at Mill Creek Academy. I have the honor of working with students in Kindergarten through Second Grade and I am excited to be a part of this wonderful community.
A little about me: I have spent the last 19 years in education, first as elementary school teacher with the New York City Department of Education. Over those years, I worked with students of all ages and backgrounds and developed a deep passion for supporting children in their academic, social, and emotional development. I understand the challenges that young children can face as they navigate school life, and I am committed to providing a safe and caring space where students can grow, feel supported, and develop the skills they need to succeed both in school and beyond.
As a school counselor, I will be here to help your child with anything they might need- whether it’s learning how to navigate emotions, solving conflicts with friends, or even getting extra help in the classroom. I believe that every child deserves to feel heard, understood, and valued, and my goal is to work closely with teachers, families, and students to ensure that each child feels confident and ready to learn.
In addition to my role as a counselor, I bring a wealth of experience from my time as a teacher. I understand the importance of building strong, trusting relationships with students, as well as creating an environment where they feel safe to express themselves. My background has allowed me to see firsthand the critical connection between emotional well-being and academic success. Through my work with students, I hope to build a foundation that promotes a positive school experience and fosters the social-emotional skills needed to thrive.
When I am not working at school, you can find me in the kitchen experimenting with new recipes- I love cooking and trying out new meals with my family. We enjoy trips to Disney and are blessed to live within a reasonable driving distance! Fitness is also an important part of my life, I enjoy staying active through a variety of activities. I’m a huge fan of the New York Rangers and enjoy watching games with my family!
I am looking forward to getting to know all your children, whether through classroom lessons, individual sessions, or special activities throughout the year. My door is always open, and I encourage both students and parents to reach out if there’s ever a question or concern. Working together, I know we can help your child feel confident, valued, and excited to come to school each day.
Ms. Victoria Russo – School Counselor for 3-5th Grade.
[email protected] (904) 547-3736
Hello! My name is Victoria Russo, and I’m thrilled to be joining the Mill Creek Academy family as the 3rd–5th grade school counselor!
Before stepping into this role, I taught 5th grade math and science and served as a Varying Exceptionalities (ESE-VE) teacher for students in grades K–5. I also have a foundation in early childhood education, having worked with the Head Start program among other early learning centers. These experiences have given me the opportunity to support a wide range of learners from diverse backgrounds and age groups.
Through each of these roles, I discovered my true passion: helping students grow not just academically, but socially and emotionally as well. That passion is what led me to school counseling, a role I find incredibly meaningful and rewarding.
My mission is to empower students to thrive in all areas of their development. I believe in building strong relationships, fostering resilience, and creating a safe, supportive space where every child feels seen, heard, and valued.
Outside of work, I love spending time outdoors, especially at the beach! I enjoy walking, biking, and playing golf with my family.
I’m so excited to be part of this amazing community and look forward to supporting our students and families throughout the year! Please don’t hesitate to reach out by phone or email.
